All schools being improved under the 1.4 million dollar repair program should be ready for the reopening of the new school term.
Minister of Transport and Works Senator Julian Francis on Monday said, he spoke with the Engineer for the programme, and he was assured that the works being carried out on the institutions are going at a steady pace.
Francis said schools under the plan include, Sandy Bay Government, Thomas Saunders Secondary,Georgetown Secondary, West St George Secondary School,Cane End Primary School, Richland Park Government, Biabou Methodist School, Georgetown Secondary School, Evesham Primary, Rose Hall Primary, Gomea Primary, St Clair Deacon Secondary, Owia Primary,Lauders Primary, Greggs Primary , Campden Park Secondary, Lodge Village Primary,Diamonds Primary, Kingstown Government, and Argyle Primary School.
The Minister noted that the repairs range the from lowest in cost at about $3000.00 to $110,000.00 being the highest.
At the Sandy Government, there is construction taking place which puts the price at $275,000.00, those works according to the minister would not affect the opening of school next Monday.
Francis said BRAGSA is the institution in charge of the works taking place at Sandy Bay Government.
