This country’s Senior Magistrate Rickie Burnett said that he is rather concerned about the attitude of Public Servants here who go to business houses to credit items and refuse to pay up.
His concern was raised on Thursday, April 12th, 2018 when a civil servant who was summoned and appeared in Court to defend a claim brought by C.D. Veira (Singer) failed to show up in Court.
Magistrate Burnett pointed out that there is a Public Service Act with respect to Civil Servants’ behaviour in similar matters which need to be looked into.
An order was made for the Civil Servant to pay the claim by Monday, April 16th, 2018, in default she will face a six-week jail term for disobeying the Court Order.
