Sergeant (Sgt.) 309 Ophelia Foyle-Lyttle on Wednesday celebrated 31 years of dedicated service to the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the RSVPF.
Sgt. Lyttle was enlisted to the RSVPF on 16th January 1988, and commenced 6 months of rigorous training at the Regional Police Training Centre (RPTC) in Barbados.
She has since served at the Immigration Department (17 years), Police Telecommunications (10 years) and is presently the Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) in charge of the Central Police Station (CPS) office for the past 3 years.
Looking back on her many years of service, Sgt. Lyttle is thankful to God for allowing her to celebrate such a remarkable milestone.
She acknowledged that had it not been for Gods mercy and grace she might have fallen out of the race. Sgt. Lyttle noted that over the years she developed the understanding that to be a good soldier, endurance, hard work and dedication is necessary to reach the finish line.
She pledges her allegiance to the organisation and to the people of SVG and vows to continue to serve to the best of her ability to the end.
Sgt. 309 Lyttle is also the President of the RSVPF Christian Soldiers, a group which ensures that the spiritual needs of the men and women of the constabulary are met.
