- Ricardo Drue funeral Antigua
Ricardo Drue, a soca performer, will be laid to rest on January 9th.
Drue’s mother, Nicola Barriteau, issued a statement yesterday afternoon outlining his burial preparations.
The event is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at Antigua’s Holy Family Cathedral.
In her first public statement since Drue’s untimely passing last month, Barriteau expressed gratitude to the public for their love and support for his family.
“There are no words at this time to express the overwhelming love and support given as the family continues to process and come to terms with the passing of our beloved son, Ricardo Robert Barriteau Drue,” she went on to say.
“We appreciate the courtesy shown during this extremely difficult time.” While we all wish the hands of time could be turned back, the harshest truth of life is death, and while the family would do anything to have him with us in the physical, the final admission is that the Almighty is in complete charge.”
The vocalists of “Vagabond” and “Toxic Love” perished on December 12th, 2023.
He was 38.
