Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at Great House in the Lowmans area, which claimed the life of a St. Lucian national and left two others hospitalized.

According to police statements, authorities received information about the incident and immediately deployed officers to the scene. Upon arrival, they found that three individuals had been shot. Two of the victims were hospitalized, and police are currently withholding their names for safety reasons. The third victim, a man, was shot in the face and succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased has been identified as a national of St. Lucia, though police noted that they do not yet have his correct name, age, date of birth, or address. Local authorities are currently working closely with their law enforcement counterparts in St. Lucia to confirm his identity.

Addressing the rising crime rate, police confirmed that this fatal shooting marks the 19th homicide of the year. During the exact same period last year, there were 15 murders, representing an increase of four homicides compared to the corresponding period.

Authorities stated that the investigation into the Great House shooting is progressing “relatively smoothly”. While investigators are still awaiting the results of forensic examinations and navigating hesitation from some potential witnesses, police remain optimistic that they will have positive developments to report to the public in the near future.
