Saint Lucian athlete Meggan William has reached a significant milestone in her professional career, climbing to a career-high World No. 200 ranking in Women’s Singles pickleball. This achievement distinguishes her as the only Caribbean athlete to currently hold a world ranking in the women’s singles category, solidifying her role as a premier global ambassador for the sport.
William’s ascent in the rankings is supported by a string of impressive performances throughout the 2026 season. According to recent DUPR statistics, she maintains a 62.5% win percentage in singles with a record of 10 wins and 6 losses. Her performance in women’s doubles is even more striking, boasting an 83.3% win rate.
Her recent competitive track includes the 2026 Fracas in Fort Collins PPA Challenger, where she competed in the Professional Women’s Singles Main Draw to earn valuable ranking points. William attributes her steady rise to a comprehensive year-round training regimen that blends her competitive tennis background with intensive on-court pickleball drills, mental sports psychology exercises, and advanced performance analysis.
Beyond the tournament circuit, William is leveraging her expertise to grow the sport within the Caribbean. In June 2026, she was invited by Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort, to lead an exclusive six-day Pickleball and Tennis Clinic. Set against the iconic backdrop of the Pitons, the event provided personalized coaching to guests from North America, Europe, and the Caribbean.
The program featured a wide range of activities, including:
- Advanced strategy and shot-selection workshops.
- Match simulation exercises and competitive doubles play.
- Family-oriented participation programs and private coaching.
This initiative highlights the rising intersection of elite sports and luxury tourism in Saint Lucia, showcasing the region as a burgeoning hub for international pickleball.
Looking forward, William has set her sights on breaking into the World Top 100. To achieve this, she has committed to a demanding schedule of nine upcoming Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) events across the United States between July and November 2026. These stops include Challenger events in Georgia, Washington, Michigan, Florida, and Texas.
“Every tournament, clinic, and partnership provides an opportunity to grow the sport, inspire future athletes, and showcase the incredible talent that exists within our region,” William stated. “My focus remains on continuing to improve [and] competing against the best players in the world”.
William’s international campaign is bolstered by a diverse network of partners spanning the United States, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. Key supporters include The Ksquare Group (Texas), Black Box Communication (Saint Lucia), and Gaps Technologies L.L.C. (Dubai), all of whom play a vital role in her travel, training, and community outreach efforts.
