St Lucian national to be deported by order of the court

St. Lucian national Moses Phillips was on Thursday, February 9th, 2017 escorted to the Kingstown Magistrate Court before Senior Magistrate Bertie Pompey facing two separate charges.

The charges include breaching of the immigration act by entering the state via Richmond Beach between 1st November and December 31st, 2016 without the permission of the Immigration Authority and entering without a passport.

Phillips, when requested to enter a plea, maintained that of guilty.

A fine of $1,200.00 was imposed upon him on both matters to be paid forthwith. In default, a 6 months jail term will be served at Her Majesty’s Prison in Kingstown.

He was also ordered to be deported out of the country.
