SVG attends postal union of the Americas forum

The Postal Union of the Americas, Spain and Portugal (PUASP) today opened the Inter-Regional Forum on Posts, Customs, Security and Business in San Salvador, El Salvador.

The forum, which runs from June 9 –11, 2026, brings together representatives of Postal Administrations, Customs authorities, Security agencies, international organizations, to discuss issues critical to the future of trade, logistics, and postal services.

The forum provides an important platform for dialogue and cooperation among key stakeholders involved in the movement of goods, information, and services across borders.

Over the next three days, participants will examine opportunities to strengthen collaboration, improve operational efficiency, enhance security measures, and facilitate international trade.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines is being represented the Director of Postal Services : June Jacqueline Adams Ollivierre and Deputy Comptroller of Customs and Excise: Leanne James

Discussions will focus on a range of topics, including postal modernization, digital transformation, e-commerce growth, customs integration, supply chain security, risk management, and the role of postal operators in supporting economic development and regional connectivity.

The event underscores the commitment of the Postal Union of the Americas, Spain and Portugal in promoting cooperation among member countries and fostering innovative solutions to the challenges facing the postal and logistics sectors in an increasingly interconnected world.

According to the Director, ” SVG Post collaborates very well with the local Customs and Excise department and this opportunity which has been afforded to two senior officers of both entities will aid in identifying practical strategies that will further enhance service delivery, support secure and efficient trade, and contribute to sustainable revenue generation for both organizations”.
