CENSUS OF AGRICULTURE AND FISHERIES (CAF) TO COMMENCE SOON
The Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines will soon undertake the 2026 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (CAF).
The Census will collect essential information on farms, fisheries, livestock, land use, and household participation in agriculture and provide updated data to inform national planning, policy development, and the efficient allocation of resources across the sector.
In preparation for the Census, training sessions for census personnel (Supervisors and Enumerators) began on the 26th of January and would end on the 28th.
The sessions were held at the University of the West Indies, Kingstown, New Life Ministries Church, New Grounds and Kingdom Life Ministry Church, Barrouallie.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Transformation and the Ministry of Fisheries, Marine and Land Conservation, and Climate Resilience, in collaboration with the Statistical Office and the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Private Sector Development, encourage all farmers, livestock owners, fishers, and agriculture-based households to participate fully in this important national exercise.
All information collected will be treated as strictly confidential and used solely for statistical and planning purposes.
