Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has officially handed over the chairmanship of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Council of Ministers: Foreign Affairs to Antigua and Barbuda during the Council’s 10th meeting on Sunday, September 20, 2026. The transition took place at the Conference Room of the Antigua and Barbuda Permanent Mission to the United Nations, with the Honourable E.P. Chet Greene, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Antigua and Barbuda, assuming leadership.
During the session, which was chaired by Antigua and Barbuda, the Council considered a broad range of geopolitical and economic issues affecting member states. Discussions centered on emerging issues, geopolitical strategy, trade and logistics diplomacy, and regional developments.
Additionally, foreign ministers deliberated on the rotation of OECS diplomatic missions, the operation of the shared diplomatic platform, the expansion of the ECLS Programme, and the regulatory framework and reputation management for Citizenship by Investment (CBI) programs.
Reflecting on Saint Vincent and the Grenadines’ tenure as Chair, Minister Bramble expressed appreciation to the ministers and delegations of OECS Member States, as well as Dr. Didacus Jules and the OECS Commission, for their support, cooperation, and confidence throughout the country’s chairmanship.
Minister Bramble emphasized that rapid changes in the international landscape make regional solidarity, principled diplomacy, and collective action of critical importance to small states.
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines reaffirmed its firm commitment to advancing the Council’s work and strengthening regional cooperation.
