The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force, in collaboration with the Carnival Development Corporation, has issued a strict public safety directive ahead of the upcoming Vincy Mas celebrations. Authorities are warning criminal elements that violence and lawlessness will not be tolerated during the national carnival.

In a public address, Assistant Superintendent of Police Nolan Dalloway delivered a direct and stern message to local criminal organizations, specifically calling out individuals associated with the “six” and “seven” gangs. To ensure public safety, Dalloway announced that law enforcement officers will be deployed in “full force” throughout the duration of Vincy Mas.

The primary focus of this heightened police presence will be the active targeting of illegal weapons and criminal activity. Assistant Superintendent Dalloway made it explicitly clear that there will be severe consequences for offenders, stating that anyone discovered carrying a weapon or participating in unlawful conduct will face immediate arrest and prosecution.

“Our message is clear. No form of criminality, violence, or lawlessness will be tolerated,” Dalloway emphasized during his briefing.

Authorities are urging the public to prioritize safety and good conduct during the cultural celebrations. Dalloway strongly advised all attendees to leave any weapons at home and to “enjoy the festivity responsibly”. The joint effort by the police force and the Carnival Development Corporation aims to guarantee a secure and enjoyable environment for all locals and visitors participating in Vincy Mas.
