On September 1, 2026, Pastor Aldon McDonald Ambrose will officially commence his 25th year of ordained ministry in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Reflecting on a quarter-century of dedicated service, Pastor Ambrose’s journey is a testament to perseverance, prophetic calling, and a deep-seated passion for community transformation and church growth.

Currently serving as the Ministerial Secretary, Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (PARL) Director, and Prayer and Spirit of Prophecy Coordinator of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) Mission of Seventh-day Adventists, Pastor Ambrose is a prominent voice of leadership, guidance, and spiritual advocacy across the region.

Pastor Ambrose’s story began on the beautiful Grenadines island of Union Island. He received his foundational education locally, attending the Ashton Primary School and later the Union Island Secondary School.

Though his early life was rooted in the Caribbean, it was in Canada that Pastor Ambrose experienced his pivotal spiritual turning point. Encountering the gospel call, he initially hesitated, putting the decision off for a year. However, his eventual “Yes!” marked the beginning of a lifelong commitment to gospel service.

To prepare for his pastoral calling, he enrolled at Canadian University College (now Burma University) in Alberta, Canada. There, he successfully earned a Bachelor of Theology with an emphasis in Pastoral Ministry. Driven by a desire to deepen his theological and missiological understanding, he later graduated with a Master of Arts in Pastoral Theology (MAPTh) with a specialization in Mission from the Inter-American Adventist Theological Seminary (IATS).

Following his ordination, Pastor Ambrose spent 17 years on the frontlines of ministry, serving as a dedicated district pastor. During nearly two decades of local church leadership, he developed a reputation as a warm, friendly, and deeply approachable leader—a true “people person” who prioritized personal connections and community well-being.

His administrative talents and pastoral dedication led to his election in 2022 to the executive leadership of the SVG Mission. Recognizing his continued impact, the constituency re-elected him in 2024 to his multi-faceted current roles. Today, as Ministerial Secretary, PARL Director, and Prayer and Spirit of Prophecy Coordinator, he oversees the spiritual development of pastors, advocates for religious liberty, and champions active prayer ministries throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

At the core of Pastor Ambrose’s ministry is an unwavering desire to see people accept and experience a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, believing that “to know [Him] is life eternal.” Sincerely grateful to Jesus for his own salvation, he has dedicated his life to sharing this message of hope.

Convinced that Christ’s return is imminent, Pastor Ambrose has focused his pastoral teaching and preaching on prophetic themes and end-time readiness. This prophetic focus is complemented by a robust commitment to prayer ministry, which he views as vital for sustaining spiritual life and mission.

Supporting him in this demanding work is his family. Pastor Ambrose is married to Veronica Leolene Ambrose, whom he warmly refers to as his lovely wife. Together, they are the parents of three children: adult children Arlene and Aquille, and their teenager, Aiden.

Even with decades of active ministry under his belt, Pastor Ambrose continues to seek new strategies to advance the gospel. Since 2017, he has been on a rigorous academic journey, pursuing a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree.

His doctoral research focuses on a critical, practical challenge for the region, titled: A Strategy for Effective Church Planting in St. Vincent and the Grenadines Mission of Seventh-day Adventists.”

Though his academic emphasis encompasses Evangelism, Church Growth, and Leadership, his final dissertation specifically addresses the strategic deployment of church planting models to reach unentered territories.

Reflecting on his doctoral journey, Pastor Ambrose acknowledges the severe challenges he faced along the way. “It has been very challenging,” he remarked, sharing that there were multiple times when he felt overwhelmed and thought, “that is it.” However, he attributes his persistence to divine strength: “the Lord sustained me along the journey.”

As he approaches his 25-year milestone, Pastor Ambrose remains a vital pillar of the SVG Mission, combining academic rigor with pastoral warmth to shape the future of Seventh-day Adventist ministry in the Caribbean.
