Braxton Lewis is SVG’s Junior Minister of Tourism
The Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Sustainable Development applauds the Junior Minister of Tourism, Braxton Lewis of the North Union Secondary School, who represented St. Vincent and the Grenadines on the regional stage at the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s Regional Tourism Youth Congress, on Thursday 8th October, 2026, in Georgetown, Guyana.
The Regional Tourism Youth Congress provided a parliamentary-style platform for eighteen (18) distinguished Junior Ministers of Tourism from various Caribbean nations to deliberate on issues and emerging trends affecting the advancement and expansion of the tourism and hospitality industry.
Mr. Lewis, who is a visionary and promising young tourism leader, delivered an outstanding presentation on ‘Cultural Industries and Tourism Innovation’. He presented three compelling strategies that articulate a clear, forwardlooking vision for strengthening cultural tourism, expanding creative industries, and enhancing the tourism experience in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The three strategies presented:
1. Transform Vincy Mas into the Caribbean’s premier cultural tourism anchor through the M.A.S Framework – Make, Absorb, Share, giving visitors a monthlong immersive cultural experience.
2. Position SVG as a boutique film destination through the SVG Screen Tourism Initiative – Set, Value, Grow, attracting international productions while building longterm youth careers in film.
3. Create the Vincy Artists Cooperative Tourism Framework guided by the ART Framework – Access, Reward, Transform, to ensure that artiste are fairly compensated and integrated into tourism experiences through booking platforms and artisteinresidence programmes. Tourism Education Officer Ms. Annille Beache served as the chaperone, and teacher Ms. Timiesha Jacobs accompanied and supported Mr. throughout the event.
The Junior Minister of Tourism’s participation in the Congress is one of the many opportunities provided through the Ministry’s Tourism Education Programme that allows the perspective of our youths to influence the direction of tourism development in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
