Recently released visitor arrival figures for St Vincent and the Grenadines looks healthy and promising.
Stay over arrivals by air increased by 15.5% during the period January to March 2018, compared to the same period last year.
Minister for Tourism, Cecil McKie in Parliament on Thursday morning further disclosed that same day visitors for the same period increased by 6.9%, giving an overall increase in arrivals by air of 15.3%.
The Minister told parliament the visitor arrivals by sea was even more encouraging, according to McKie, there was an increase of 26.2% in yacht arrivals for the first quarter of 2018, while cruise arrivals were up by 87.1%, giving an increase of 73.3% by sea and an overall arrivals increase of 62.9%.
McKie said the opening of the Argyle International Airport has contributed to a tremendous boost in this area and reiterated that all Vincentians must continue to play their role in the continued development of the tourism sector.
