Curator of the Botanical Gardens Gordon Shallow in a Facebook post is beseeching the general public to cease and desist in vandalising our Botanical Garden.

One of the two bougainvillaeas in the photos below was stolen during this past weekend (Saturday 6, Sunday 7 May) and has cause deep discouragement to the staff that keeps the Garden immaculate for your pleasure, Shallow stated.

” We know and understand that kind of thinking that most people may have towards the gardens and it’s planted. “I’m sure thy have all the plants they want and can get”.

“If I take a branch of this and that, they surely won’t miss it, If I take a plant, man they can easily replace it, Man, I pay my money to come in, so I getting my monies worth.”

We call on all Vincentians to refrain from doing such acts that are against the law and help protect and build our Garden, not destroy it.
