Strong winds to affect St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) within the next 24 hours
A ridge pattern still dominates the sky, but there is a medium risk of isolated showers across SVG tonight (Saturday) until early Sunday, according to the SVG Met Office’s 6 p.m. forecast.
Throughout the forecast period, it will continue to be windy, and until late Sunday, a little Saharan dust haze is anticipated to linger. On Monday, early morning rains are also probable, and Tuesday is expected to have scattered showers.
Within the next 24 hours, strong (about 40 km/h)north easterly to easterly trade winds will pass over the islands, with greater gusts possibly near steep terrain.
Starting on Monday, there will be moderate to fresh winds (25 to 35 km/h). As a result, open water seas are currently moderate to rough, with swells reaching peaks of up to 3.0 metres on the eastern coast and 1.5 metres on the western coast.
Extreme caution should be used by small craft operators and swimmers in the sea when there are unusually large waves and occasionally strong gusts.
