Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and the Republic of China (Taiwan) established diplomatic relations on August 15, 1981.
Both Countries share very close diplomatic ties and the Republic of China (Taiwan) is considered as one of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines’ closest allies.
This bond was reinforced by the signing of an Agreement on Technical Cooperation on Wednesday 12th December 2018 in the Conference Room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Commerce.
The Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) has contributed immensely to the enhancement of various sectors in SVG namely Agriculture, Health, Education, Social Development and Infrastructure and has assisted extensively in technical and economic fields.
The aim of this agreement is to further strengthen the provision of technical assistance between both the Governments of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and the Republic of China (Taiwan) as our two countries address the development challenges of the 21st Century.
