SVG Government Puts Temporary Ban On Corn Beef

There is now a temporary ban on corned beef and all poultry products from the South American nation of Brazil,

The ban which was ordered by the Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines came into effect on Wednesday 22nd March 2017.

A wide-ranging ban on the product is currently taking place across the Caribbean after reports from Brazilian authorities that several major Brazilian meat processors have been “selling rotten beef and poultry”.

The Government here also ordered that the products be removed from shops and supermarket shelves across the country with immediate effect.

According to the BBC, companies in Brazil are also alleged to have paid hefty bribes to auditors in exchange for fraudulent sanitary licences.
