SVG Immigration Department Says Claims Made By George Is False/Misleading

"by" St Vincent Times
(RELEASE) – The Passports and Immigration Department wishes to refute claims made by Mr Jerry George during his live Facebook feed on Saturday 9th May, 2020.
On the arrival of the cruise ship ‘Carnival Glory’ at the Cruise Ship Berth, Mr George stated that the ship was docked but that there was a delay in the processing of the passengers because no Immigration Officers were present. He even advised his viewers to “Figure that out” as to the reason why Immigration Officers had not yet arrived.
The Department wishes to state categorically that the information which was relayed was false and misleading. There were the Assistant Chief Immigration Officer and two other Immigration Officers at the Cruise Ship Berth, ready and awaiting the arrival of the vessel in order to grant the required clearances.
The remarks made, caused the Department to be on the receiving end of disparaging comments from some members of the public. Some of the comments were also channelled, unfortunately, towards persons in higher authority.
The Department hereby assures everyone that its Officers will continue to perform in a very efficient and professional manner in rendering service to nationals and visitors alike.
Below, is a photo that was posted by the API on its facebook page. It shows one of the Immigration Officers who was on duty at the Cruise Ship Berth.
