At 5pm today, Tropical Depression Five was upgraded to Tropical Storm Dorian, located near 10.7N 49.1W and moving westward near 12 mph.
This motion is expected to bring ‘Dorian’ through the central Lesser Antilles on Tuesday, possibly as a hurricane, and then into the northeastern Caribbean Sea on Wednesday and Thursday.
Generally cloudy to overcast skies with pockets of moderate to heavy showers, periods of rain and thunderstorm activity are likely across St. Vincent and the Grenadines from late Monday into Tuesday with showers lingering on Wednesday.
Since ‘Dorian’ is forecast to strengthen and could be near hurricane strength when it approaches the Lesser Antilles, Tropical storm or hurricane watches may be issued within the next12/24hours.
Residents are urged to closely monitor the progress/development of Tropical Storm Dorian and take the necessary precautions when updates/advisories are issued from the St.Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Service.
