The Communications Unit along with Mr. Garfield Bowman, Animal Health Technician from the Animal Health and Production Division visited Mr. Eric Clarke’s Poultry Farm in Belair to observe his meticulous slaughtering and packaging process of broiler chickens.
Mr. Clarke is a beneficiary under the currently ongoing SVG Food Insecurity Project. In December 2023, he received broiler chicks and expressed immense gratitude for the donation, citing it as timely and profitable due to the significant reduction in production costs.
The UBEC CERC SVG Food Insecurity Project aims to increase the production and productivity of selected commodities, particularly among small farmers and fishers.
It is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Finance. The project aims to establish a fast, cost-effective, and sustainable food production system in SVG.

This batch of chicks marks the fifth instalment received from Gale’s Agro Products in Barbados.
