SVG U20 squad heads to Trinidad for three intl. friendlies

Vincentian Young Stars Set to Shine in Regional Football Friendlies 

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Under 20 Men’s National Team has departed for Trinidad and Tobago to participate in a series of international friendly matches as part of its ongoing development programme. 

The team is scheduled to contest three international friendlies, beginning on January 19 at 8:00 p.m. against Trinidad and Tobago at the Ato Boldon Stadium. The second match will be played on January 21 at 6:00 p.m. against Grenada at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, followed by a final encounter on January 23 at 8:00 p.m. against AC Port of Spain at the Ato Boldon Stadium. 

The delegation is led by Head Coach Mr. Ezra Hendrickson and is supported by members of the technical staff, who will work closely with the players throughout the tour to guide performance, preparation, recovery, and overall development. 

The travelling squad includes goalkeepers David Butler and Darius Hamilton. The defensive unit features Glenroy Layne, Dimitri Thomas, Keron Thomas, Shaquan Hooper, Donnell Thomas, and Darson Joseph. The midfield is anchored by Taariq Small, Ashni Henry, Zibeon Cunningham, Shane Miller, Imani Miller, Lazaro Lynch, Javan Cato, Gabriel Doyle, and Kevonte Clarke. The attacking options include Tyler Lewis, Deshad Simmons, Jordan McKenzie, Malique King, Ashni Henry, and Juari Chance. 

These international friendlies form an important component of the Football Federation’s youth development pathway, offering players the opportunity to gain competitive experience against regional opposition while building confidence, discipline, and match readiness ahead of future competitions. 

Ms. Candy Fraser, Marketing and PRO of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation, expressed full confidence in the team, noting that the tour is designed to support both performance and personal development. She stated that the experience will help build character, resilience, and unity among the players while reinforcing the standards expected at the national level. Ms. Fraser added that the Football Federation supports the team one hundred percent and encourages the Vincentian public to stand firmly behind the players, follow their journey, and continue supporting the Federation as it works to strengthen and grow football across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
