The University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus was the recipient Thursday morning of two desktop computers from the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
The equipment valued EC$2,000 per unit is for the Open Campus Library.
Speaking at a handing over ceremony, Librarian at the Open Campus Ms. Patricia Baptiste said the Open Campus has been moving to have its library accessible online by students, therefore these computers will help students in conducting their research.
Head of the Open Campus, Ms. Deborah Dalrymple expressed appreciation to the Taiwanese Embassy for this timely donation and noted that students of the Open Campus will make good use of the computers.
Meanwhile, Taiwan’s Ambassador to St. Vincent and the Grenadines Baushuan Ger said his country is committed to assisting students of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in their academic pursuits.
