On August 29, 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ International Youth Ambassadors Exchange Program embarked on an agricultural exploration of Saint Vincent, highlighting the strong bonds of bilateral cooperation and the remarkable achievements of the Taiwan Technical Mission.

Led by Chief Andy Liu and Deputy Chief Peifen Hsieh (who also serves as the Deputy Secretary-General of the TaiwanICDF), the delegation visited two key agricultural facilities: the Rabacca National Livestock Station and the Orange Hill Agricultural Biotechnology Center.

The delegation’s first stop was the Rabacca National Livestock Station, where the Youth Ambassadors observed state-of-the-art livestock breeding methods. The ambassadors received a close-up look at breeding pigs and learned about Taiwan’s imported frozen semen breeding technology, which plays a vital role in enhancing local livestock genetics.

In a heartwarming moment of connection, the delegation, alongside Deputy Secretary-General Hsieh, posed for photos with piglets. The group also toured the station’s goat facility, where they interacted with newborn Blackbelly sheep, filling the visit with laughter and memorable experiences.

The exploration continued at the Orange Hill Agricultural Biotechnology Center, where the Youth Ambassadors witnessed Saint Vincent’s transition toward smart agriculture. The delegation toured the tissue culture laboratory, learning about its independent research and development capabilities.

The ambassadors were also introduced to the center’s plant factory, which showcases hydroponic lettuce production, as well as the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) smart agriculture equipment. The visitors displayed great enthusiasm, asking numerous questions about how these technologies are applied to optimize crop yields and improve farming efficiency.

The visit not only provided the Youth Ambassadors with valuable, hands-on learning experiences but also put a spotlight on the impactful, long-standing work of the Taiwan Technical Mission in Saint Vincent. Through these exchange programs, Taiwan’s youth continue to foster international friendships while gaining deep insights into global agricultural development.
