Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew is being flown out of the country to undergo specialised medical observation, official government sources confirmed on Monday.
The decision follows an 18-hour clinical observation by a team of physicians at the JNF General Hospital, where the Prime Minister was admitted on Sunday evening, August 30, 2026. Dr. Drew sought care after experiencing a headache, mild nausea, and mild discomfort.
According to an update shared by the Cabinet of St. Kitts and Nevis, the medical team at JNF General Hospital is satisfied with the Prime Minister’s condition following their diagnostic review. Doctors have confirmed that Dr. Drew is currently awake, stable, and alert.
However, based on the findings from the 18-hour observation, the team of doctors suggested that, out of abundant caution, the Prime Minister should be transported out of the country for more specialised observation and precautionary monitoring.
Government officials are currently making arrangements to facilitate smooth transportation for the Prime Minister. The Cabinet and official sources of the St. Kitts and Nevis government have stated that they will continue to keep the public updated on Dr. Drew’s health situation. A further update on the Prime Minister’s health status is expected to be issued today at 7:00 PM AST.
Following the announcement, people from all across the country have come forward to extend their prayers and wishes for the health and recovery of Prime Minister Drew.
