Current speaker of the house of assembly in SVG Jomo Thomas will step down as house speaker in the first quarter of 2020.

Thomas also noted in a press conference on Tuesday afternoon that he will not contest the 2020 elections as a candidate for the ULP.

Thomas sighted time and money as some of the reasons for not offering himself as a candidate in the 2020 elections.
