Personnel from the United States Transportation Security Administion or TSA, will be in St Vincent and the Grenadines at the end of February 2017.
This was made public by Glen Beache head of the Tourism Authority on Wednesday 4th January while speaking on Boom FM a local radio station on the island.
Beache said the necessary checks will be made to ensure that flights going into the United States are secured.
Beache noted that there were concerns about security with flights landing for the 14th, however, he stated that with chartered flights TSA checks are not necessary.
Beache said for the TSA checks to take place the airport has to be operational.
