There are charges against two Guyanese police officers related to a robbery.

Police constables Winston Williams and Julian Smartt are accused of working together with others to rob the victim of GYD$ 8 million on November 29th, according to a police report.

Authorities reported to have evidence that showed Smartt escorting the suspects to the scene of the crime.

“Smartt and Williams (who were both in uniform and riding motorcycles) were seen escorting the suspects to an area known as Rasville after the robbery was committed,” the police claimed.

Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, specifically Robbery Under Arms, in violation of Section 34 of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01, was the charge that Smartt and Williams were jointly charged with.
