At the Wallilabou Agricultural Station and the Orange Hill Biotechnical Facility, a significant demonstration was held to install irrigation kits procured through the UBEC CERC Food Insecurity Project.
This initiative was designed to impart critical knowledge and practical skills related to irrigation systems to the staff of the Research and Development Unit as well as the Extension and Advisory Services.
The demonstration was led by experts Romain Graciano from Aquatec and Mr. Lahcen Elhaddaji from Agile Water, who showcased the successful setup of the irrigation system. Their expertise ensured that the installation was carried out efficiently and effectively, providing a valuable learning experience for all attendees.
Participants from the Ministry of Agriculture who attended this comprehensive training session are now equipped with the necessary skills to guide farmers in the correct installation and maintenance of these irrigation systems.
This training is expected to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability by ensuring that farmers are able to implement these systems correctly, thereby optimizing water use and improving crop yields.
The demonstration underscores the UBEC CERC Food Insecurity Project’s commitment to advancing agricultural practices through the adoption of modern technology and aims to foster a more resilient agricultural sector capable of addressing food insecurity and promoting sustainable development.
