Unsettled weather continues, with gusty winds, high seas

1 Min Read

SVG will continue to experience breezy conditions into next week. In addition, Saharan dust haze concentrations will continue to cross our islands during this forecast period.

Residents should remain alert for reduced air quality and visibility. Fair to partly cloudy skies can be expected on Friday whereas a weak shearline could trigger some showers early Saturday.

The Atlantic High pressure system should again dominate on Sunday with relatively fair conditions.

Fresh to strong (~30-40 km/h) east south easterly to east north easterly trades are currently crossing our islands. Moderate to strong (~25-40 km/h) winds are anticipated from Friday.

Consequently, seas will remain agitated. The small craft and high surf advisory is extented for SVG and its coastal waters until 6am 12th June 2025.

Only vessels capable of withstanding swells of these magnitudes should venture out. Sea-bathers are advised to stay out of the water. Seas should become generally moderate in open water with swells peaking to 2.5m from Friday.
