- Police probes suspected drowning of 17-yro from Cedars
The body discovered at sea has been positively identified as Javed Clarke of Chapmans/Cedars, a 17-year-old former North Union Secondary School student.
Clarke was reported missing at sea shortly after 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2023, after going to Cedars Beach to bathe.
As a result, divers from the SVG Coast Guard and police officers from the Biabou Police Station searched the nearby seas but were unable to locate the body.
On Monday, January 1, 2024, at 5:53 p.m., a Stubbs resident went to the Stubbs Police Station and reported that a body had washed up on Rawacou Beach.
The police arrived on the scene.The District Medical Officer also went to the spot and declared the victim dead. Clarke’s guardian later positively recognised his body.
A post-mortem examination of the deceased is expected to determine the cause of death. The RSVGPF sends its condolences to everyone who has been harmed by this catastrophe. The investigations are still ongoing.
