  • VENDING ON BUCCAMENT BAY BEACH (SVG) TO BE REGULATED

As the tourism product expands on mainland St Vincent, (SVG) the Government is putting measures in place to have vending regulated at some popular areas.

In an interview with the Agency for Public Information, Area Representative for Central Leeward, Dr. Orando Brewster, said there will be regulations with regards to vending on Buccament Bay so that it becomes more structured.

“We would have to have a meeting with all the stakeholders involved, the fishermen, the business owners so we can regulate the area…we would have that date set very early this year before the tourist season is over and we will have a meeting with everyone so that we can live and let each other live,” Brewster said.

The Minister also added that Buccament and Central Leeward, is becoming a hub for tourism and with development at Jackson Bay scheduled to begin soon, tourism on that part of the island will certainly take off.

Dr. Brewster said all of this is being buttressed by the multi-million-dollar investment by Sandals Resort at Buccament Bay which is scheduled to be opened in March of this year.
