Vincentian Daniel Campbell To Be Honoured In Washington

SCE has honoured Vincentian Daniel Campbell as a 2020 New Face of Civil Engineering. He is among 10 young professionals who have each accomplished more in the first decade of their careers than most people manage in a lifetime.

 Campbell has done remarkable work around the Caribbean during the last decade, improving infrastructure and ensuring increased resilience.

 Campbell went on to get his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at the University of Matanzas, in Cuba, followed by his master’s degree from the University of Auckland in New Zealand.

His heart has always been in his home country, and he is proud to have returned to help improve SVG’s infrastructure.

 After the country suffered a 500-year flood event in 2013, Campbell joined several other civil engineers and architects to form Caribbean Engineering and Design Consultants Ltd., with the stated purpose of designing and constructing more resilient and sustainable structures.

 They’ve since worked on many slope-stability projects, flood mitigation projects, residential housing projects and bridges.

Campbell will be honoured at the 2020 Opal Award GALA on March 13^th in Washington

 The Outstanding Projects and Leaders (OPAL) awards honour outstanding civil engineering leaders whose lifetime accomplishments contributed in one of five categories: Construction, Design, Education, Government and Management.
