Three Vincentian Fishermen Missing At Sea
Three fishermen are now lost at sea, and concerns are mounting as a robust tropical wave is expected to affect the Southern Caribbean on Friday.
St Vincent Times was told that the three left the Kingstown Fish Market jetty on Tuesday morning (1st June) on a fishing trip along the island’s east coast, using a 27-foot pirogue.
The men did not return on Tuesday evening as expected. Up to Press time On Thursday, there was still no sight of the fishermen.
The fishermen, according to information, hails from various communities around the capital, Kingstown.
Coast Guard officials told St Vincent Times that they had received information about the missing fishermen and that information is being acted upon.
Moderate showers and gusty winds are forecast across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on Friday.
