Toronto Man Charged in Connection Markham Residential Burglaries
York Regional Police have arrested and charged a 39-year-old Vincentian man following a four-month investigation into a string of nine break-and-enters in Markham.
The suspect, identified as Neville Ricky Young, was apprehended on Tuesday after police executed two search warrants in Toronto. Investigators believe the alleged crimes took place between Nov. 28, 2025, and March 20, 2026.
According to police, the suspect targeted residences during the evening hours that appeared to be unoccupied. Once he allegedly forced his way into the homes, he focused his search on bedrooms, specifically seeking out jewelry and designer items.
Young, who according to reports is originally from Calder Ridge, is now facing more than a dozen charges, which include:
- Six counts of break and enter commit
- Three counts of break and enter with intent
- Four counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
As part of the investigation, authorities identified a black Infiniti G37 as the suspect vehicle.
York Regional Police investigators expressed concern that there may be additional victims and witnesses who have not yet come forward. They noted that the suspect had been observed in the areas of the break-ins without a mask.
While Young remains in custody, police stated that more charges could be laid as the investigation continues.
