Vincentian Participates in U.S. Govt-Sponsored Partners of the Americas’ Sustainability Exchange Program
Leeza Charles of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines will go to Washington, D.C. on October 7 to participate in Partners of the Americas’ (PATH) Environmental Protection and Resilience Professional Exchange Program.
The exchange is part of PATH’s Education and Culture program, which is funded by the US Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and connects people and institutions to promote community service, cross-cultural understanding and cooperation among the US, Latin America, and the Caribbean, and professional development of participants and the communities they visit.
Ms. Charles founded Arubana, an innovative firm that represents the spirit of sustainable entrepreneurship, and she has been an outspoken advocate for supporting sustainable practices in the Caribbean’s agricultural and tourism industries.
During the ten-day program, she will focus on environmental issues, network with like-minded people, and learn from presentations by key government officials in the sector.
The program will equip participants with vital skills and resources to improve their effectiveness as environmental advocates in their individual areas through engaging workshops on community leadership.
The goal of this exchange program is to promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and cultural understanding between the United States and Caribbean countries.
