Linda McDowald of St. Vincent and the Grenadines,became the Winner of the female division of the CARICOM 10K 2016 in Georgetown, Guyana this morning.
Linda moved up from 2nd place in last year’s race in Barbados and shaved a full 2 minutes off her time.
Vincentian Pamenos Ballantyne received a special commendation from CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque at the end of the 2016 CARICOM 10K race in Georgetown, Guyana, Sunday.
Ballantyne is the only athlete who competed in all 12 editions of the annual race. He won seven.
Ballantyne finished outside the top 3 in today’s event.
