Eight Vincentian students were awarded a Certificate from Hungkuang University in Tourism Hospitality Management.
They are Cordero Telesford, Darese Small, Kenisha James, Holly Ann George, Cathalia George, Samiela Lucas, Karielle Edwards and Davina Roberts.
The students were on a 3-month training program sponsored by the Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF).
They told News784 that the training was an experience of a lifetime as hospitality is rated in Taiwan as first class.
“We were all granted the opportunity to experience a whole new different culture and their cuisine was a mixture of Chinese, Japanese and the western cuisine which is soon to be included in the Taiwanese cuisine”.
All 8 participants had the distinct opportunity to study at the top vocational university in Taiwan, Hungkuang University where most courses were in Chinese, however, they were afforded a translator.
”We also enjoyed all the cultural immersion and site visits to Taiwan’s best, especially the Taichung Theatre and the Taipei 101 landmark”.
The trainees completed 350 hours of training in Taiwan and are returning to SVG on November 1, 2019.
Her Excellency Ambassador Andrea Bowman was present at the Graduation Ceremony.
