Workers at the headquarters of the St Vincent Electricity Services Limited (Vinlec) were sent home earlier today after a worker tested positive for Covid-19.

According to CIBS news, the male employee test result was known yesterday afternoon but other workers were not aware.

When employees turned up for duties this morning and customers showed up to pay bills and conduct other forms of business, they observed persons in personal protective gear busy around the compound.

The employees and customers expressed concerns and an emergency meeting was called, CIBS reported.

A decision was taken to send the workers home and sanitize the offices.

CIBS news reported that there was another positive case at the headquarters recently.
