BVI: Virgin Gorda on Forbes Magazine’s Top 2023 places to visit
The British Virgin Islands is pleased to announce that its crown jewel, Virgin Gorda, has been named the eighth best destination to visit in 2023 by the prestigious Forbes Magazine. Virgin Gorda is the only Caribbean island on this distinguished list.
Forbes described Virgin Gorda as “a destination of clear calm waters that offers first-class snorkelling” in its article “Here They Are: The 23 Best Places To Travel In 2023.” The island is a popular vacation destination for couples, families, snorkelers, and beachgoers. The Baths, with its massive boulders and pristine turquoise water, captivates visitors.
The list of “The 23 Best Places to Travel in 2023” is based on recommendations from top travel advisors. “The best way to explore has always been by boat,” one advisor says, “but with the reopening of the fully renovated Rosewood Little Dix Bay, staying on land is just as magical.”
It’s no surprise that Virgin Gorda has been named the best option in several publications in recent months. The article in Travel and Leisure. Rosewood Little Dix Bay, Saba Rock, and Bitter End Yacht Club are featured in “How Virgin Gorda is Making a Comeback After Two Devastating Hurricanes – What’s New on the Island.” The three resorts have been dubbed the “blueprint for hospitality,” exemplifying a new era in tourism.
Clive McCoy, Director of Tourism for the British Virgin Islands, stated, “Virgin Gorda gaining the eighth spot as the top destination in the world, and the only Caribbean destination mentioned, is an accolade we are genuinely proud of.” This is a direct result of the efforts of our industry partners, stakeholders, and the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board and Film Commission (BVITB&FC).”
Mr. McCoy is upbeat about the future of tourism to the British Virgin Islands. He mentioned a number of upcoming press and familiarisation trips. “Through these immersive experiences, press, influencers, travel advisors, and trade partners will gain an intimate understanding of the destination’s offerings.”
