The World Central Kitchen has reached out to the government of SVG, this time to assist in the recovery phase, through its long-term resilience program “The Food Producer Network” (FPN).
The FPN aims to support smallholder farmers, fishers and food-related businesses through funding, training and networking opportunities, which will help them revitalize their operations and recover their capacity for food production, distribution and sales after catastrophic events.
On Tuesday 17th August 2021, Mrs Alexandra Garcia, Chief Program Officer of WCK and Ms Mikol Hoffman, Director of FPN, Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of National Mobilization, the Ministry of Education and NEMO, to discuss grants which are available to food producers in SVG.
Vincentian food producers operating for at least 18 months and interested in obtaining a grant can visit wck.org for more details and begin the application process.
Additionally, as part of the application process, applicants will be required to submit the necessary documentation about their business, e.g. business registration certificates, farmer’s ID, invoices, receipts, photographs, financial/bank statements etc.

FPN has assisted food producers in Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, The Bahamas and Guatemala.
Following the eruption of the La Soufrière volcano on the 9th April 2021, the World Central Kitchen (WCK) reached out to the government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines to offer assistance with disaster response.
