Speaking at the media briefing for the first “ All Leeward Carnival Launch” Mr Juilans Morgan Representative for the all Leeward committee said that before this initiative North, Central, and South Leeward had separate launches, however, this year we have decided to combine resources and have a three in one launch.

Morgan said the idea was born out of a meeting held on the 21st of January at the CDC’s office where committees meet along with rural Carnival Coordinator Ellsworth Roberts.

Morgan paid special thanks to Mr Asbert Williams for being the one who offered the idea of having a combined launch of all the committees.

“ Following Williams idea, we began plans to do so and the first of our joint committee meetings were held at the Dzia sports bar in Upper Questelles, so within five or so days with the idea from Mr Williams, we were already having joint committee meetings”.

Meanwhile, Rural Carnival Coordinator Ellsworth Roberts also heaped praises on Willaims and Rodney Small who have joined the team for 2017, Roberts said both have experiences in different aspects of the culture and in meetings have shared a number of ideas to which the committees have accepted as valuable and workable.

Roberts said Williams and small have volunteered to work with the committees in organising production and to also to lift the quality of events.

Friday 3rd March is the date that has been decided on and the venue would be the Keartons hard court, the South Leeward representative said the venue was chosen due to its centralised location.
