Police in St Vincent is now investigating the circumstances surrounding a burnt victim who hails from the community of Biabou.
The incident is said to have occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday 13th August 2017.
Reports are that the woman was set ablaze by her boyfriend, who according to information received, was intoxicated from an earlier social event that he and the woman attended.
While the events that unfolded are still not clear, it was reported that the woman was set alight while in bed, after several demands by the man went unheeded.
The woman who felt the burning about her body managed to run out of the house and arrived at the Biabou police Station where she collapsed.
According to the victim’s sister, both the police station and district clinic were met shut.
She is now a patient at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, suffering from severe burns, reports also indicated she may have suffered damage to her vision as a result of her injuries.
