On April 8, police arrested and charged Alex Ells, a 34-year-old maintenance technician at Lowmans Windward, with burglary.
According to the investigation, the suspect allegedly entered the Dumbarton Agriculture Station office as a trespasser and stole $55.00 in cash.
The accused gained entry by forcefully opening a wooden door on the southern side of the building, which is owned by the SVG government. The offence was committed in Dumbarton, Mesopotamia, on March 31 at about 6:30 a.m.
Ells appeared at the Mesopotamia Magistrate Court. Ells pleaded guilty to the amended charge of theft.
The court sentenced him to six months on bond, with a default penalty of $500.00 ECC or two weeks in prison.
