35 years old Margaret Smith a resident of Petit Bordel, who was remanded into custody recently on a charge of unlawful and malicious wounding on 20 years old Teresha Edwards of the same address on May 14th, 2018 has been given bail.
This was allowed in the sum of $9,000.00 with one surety. Smith is expected to report to the Chateaubelair Police Station twice weekly between 6 am and 6 pm, she is to surrender all travel documents to the Court.
Stop notices will be placed at all ports of entry and exit in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
When Smith first appeared at the Serious Offences Court before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne the Police Prosecution objected to his bail and stating that the victim was at the time a patient at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital nursing severe cutlass wounds to her left hand and her condition was deemed critical at the time.
Smith re-appeared before the Court on Friday, May 25th, 2018 and Prosecutor Delpesche informed the Court that he was waiving his objection to bail due to the fact that Edwards was now discharged from the medical institution.
Smith is expected to return to Court on September 17th, 2018.
