Khanroy Chewitt, a 65-year-old Supervisor of Park Hill/USA who was arrested and charged on January 06, 2024, for possession of an illegal firearm and 19 rounds of ammunition was sentenced today (15.01.24) at the Serious Offences Court.
Chewitt previously pleaded not guilty when he first appeared before the Senior Magistrate, His Honor Colin John on January 08, 2024, and was granted bail in the sum of $5000.00
During his second appearance, Chewitt pleaded guilty to the charges. He was fined $15,000.00 for possession of an unlawful firearm and $10,000 for possession of unlawful ammunition.
The fines must be paid by January 22, 2024, or two (2 years) in prison if he defaults.
Chewitt was arrested during a joint operation between the Rapid Response Unit (RRU) and the Narcotics Unit in Park Hill.
