Antigua’s relations with China flourish with Embassy opening in Beijing

Antigua and Barbuda has opened an Embassy in the People’s Republic of China, bolstering the two countries’ already strong diplomatic relations.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne declared the Embassy open in Beijing, announcing that a permanent ambassador will be deployed there shortly.

Prime Minister Browne is leading Antigua and Barbuda’s delegation to China to increase investment and strengthen trade ties between the two countries.

The head of government lauded China’s contribution to the twin island state’s socioeconomic progress, saying, “China is easily the most benevolent country in the world.”

Several Antiguan and Barbudan students in China celebrated the Embassy’s opening.
