Barbados CARIFTA hopefuls utilise Sir Vincent Beache athletic track

1 Min Read

The Athletic Association of Barbados sent 30 “CARIFTA hopefuls” to the St. Vincent and the Grenadines junior CARIFTA trials , which took place this weekend at the Sir Vincent Beache Athletic Track.

The Nation Newspaper of Barbados reported on Friday 8 that due to the lack of a national stadium and the track at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex still being upgraded, the AAB held their Louis Lynch and Junior Championships on the less than ideal grass at St. George Secondary School.

Although some of the athletes have demonstrated incredible tenacity, posting qualifying times for the 51st Games, which will be held in Grenada from March 30 to April 1, none of them have been able to experience the give-back from a synthetic wave in over a year, the publication reported.

The group will return to Barbados tonight (Sunday, March 10).
