- Actor Christian Oliver & his two daughters killed in Bequia Plane Crash
The wreckage of N4023B, which crashed last Thursday near J.F. Mitchell airport on the Grenadine island of Bequia, was hauled to shore as Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority (ECCAA) investigators began piecing together the puzzle to establish the reason of the ill-fated flight.
After the Bellanca 17 single-engine aircraft nosedived into the Caribbean Sea immediately after takeoff at 12.09 p.m., the pilot Robert Sachs and passengers, actor Christian Oliver, and two daughters, Annik Klepser and Madita Klepser, were all killed.
The plane was on its way to Hewanorra International Airport in St. Lucia when the pilot declared an emergency and crashed into the waters near Petit Nevis.
The victims were recovered from the wreckage by local divers and handed over to the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard.
Authorities in St Vincent announced last Thursday (January 4) night that they will continue to cooperate closely with the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority and other relevant agencies as they await preliminary findings that will help determine the likely cause of the tragedy.
Authorities stated that more information will be released to the public after the ECCAA’s inquiry is completed.
