(BY JAVIN JACOBS) – Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph E Gonsalves arrived in the national capital Dehli on September 08th.
He is on a five-day visit to India. During his visit, he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar.
Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves was invited to attend the conference of Parties of the United Nations Convention, to combat Desertification.
A Special Envoy from the UNCCD and Vincentian Dr. Richard Byron-Cox – made a special call on Prime Minister Gonsalves to deliver the invitation on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the UNCCD, Ibrahim Thiaw in July.
Mr. Byron Cox said the invitation from the Executive Secretary, seeks the agreement of Dr. Gonslaves, to co-chair a key high-level dialogue at COP 14 on Land, Climate and Renewable Energy.
COP 14, which will be held in New Delhi India from September 2nd to 13th 2019, will feature a high-level segment that would be attended by delegates from 197 signatories to the convention on September 9th and 10th 2019.
